Treat yourself to a breathtaking Beatrix Potter Tour of the Lake District sites and be enthralled by the beautiful scenery. This tour will take place on a 16 seater mini coach making the small group tour experience as delightful as the mountainous scenery that you will pass though during the course of the afternoon.
Designated as a world UNESCO heritage site your Beatrix Potter Tour will start with a boat trip on Lake Windermere, cruising on England’s largest lake. Stretching up to 1 mile wide at some points, the views from the lake towards the mountains are spectacular.
The next part of your Beatrix Potter Tour takes you to Hill Top Farm where Beatrix Potter wrote many of her famous children’s stories in this 17th century cottage. You will have the opportunity to go into the house (closed Fridays), explore the garden and visit the shop. By this point, if not before, you will realise why Beatrix Potter made this part of North West England her home.
You will then continue onto the medieval village of Hawkshead with a little time to explore its many delightful features. There are plenty of photo opportunities as another famous literary figure – William Wordsworth was educated at the old Grammar School located here. During the trip, you’ll have plenty of chances to get off the bus and walk around the locations you visit too.
Onwards then to the renowned beauty spot of Tarn Hows, giving fantastic views towards the Langdale Pikes.
Please note that, as there will be walking involved in the tour please wear suitable clothing for comfort and for all weathers including rain or sunshine. Also the tour may not be suitable for those with mobility problems. Upon finishing the Beatrix Potter tour, you will be returned back into central Windermere. See Customer Reviews
