Visit Hampstead, one of the most beautiful and affluent areas of London and see where some of the most famous and successful British icons (and one American) have lived or are still living. Our expert guide will meet you outside Hampstead underground station. The first stop will be the home of one of the UK’s biggest comedy stars. An actor, writer, producer and director of international fame he has created many iconic and successful shows. He has also insulted an enormous amount of big Hollywood names all in the name of entertainment. From there our guide will take you to the former home of one of the UK’s best loved actresses and a national treasure. She spent many happy years at this home. And also had a very rude comment made about her from the owner of the previous house. Just a few seconds away is the home of a Spice Girl who originally grew up very far from Hampstead and defined a generation. After this you will see many beautiful homes and then you will see the incredible house that belonged to Britain’s most successful film director who has had a career spanning six decades. This is a man who is still directing in his 80’s, and introduced many iconic characters (not all of them human) to worldwide cinema audiences. From there the former home of one of Britain’s most well loved and successful actors and his very successful actress wife. You will learn about his 70 year acting career, his love of good company. love of alcohol and outrageous escapades. From there a very grand and large gothic mansion. This was home to one of Britain’s biggest and eccentric stars who worked with the Monty Python team and Mel Brooks. Recently two of Britain’s biggest, flamboyant and most successful recording artists lived in different halves of the mansion. One of them has lived in the house for 40 years and you will learn about his turbulent life and adventures. From there you will get a glimpse of the private street occupied by a very successful writer, producer and director who has been the driving force behind many of the UK’s biggest film and TV shows, actually. His home was also the former home of a member of MI5 and MI6 who turned his experiences of the world of espionage into best selling novels. Then you will see a controversial building (you will either love it or hate it) designed by a famous architect who inspired an equally famous book and movie bad guy. Find out how he reacted when his name appeared as the title of a bestselling novel.
Then a glimpse over the wonderwall of a legendary singer and songwriter who was in a band that defined an era. This recording artist is famous for saying what he thinks and his volatile personality. This Celebrity Homes tour London ends at the former home of a legendary American puppeteer, animator, actor, inventor and filmmaker. This genius created wonderful characters that entertained children and adults for decades. His workshop was across the street from his home. He worked with the world’s biggest stars and created some of the world’s biggest stars. From there our guide will direct you to Belsize Park Underground station which is a short walk away.
