The Jane Austen Tour of Bath will feature Jane’s visits to Bath and five years of residence from 1801-1806 in Bath, regarding her two ‘Bath novels’ – Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. The tour will focus on what she and her characters got up to and where within the city.

Your guide can meet you at your hotel or other location in central Bath. Your Jane Austen Tour of Bath can also start or finish at the Jane Austen Centre (additional charge; free entry to Gift Shop/Tea Room) or Bath Abbey (voluntary donation optional), subject to your schedule.
In this two-and-a-half-hour walk, you will visit as many of the principal Jane sites as possible, including the Pump Room, Bathing Establishments, Pulteney Bridge, Great Pulteney Street, Queen Square, the Circus, the Royal Crescent and Gravel Walk, as well as (subject to availability, as it is a working building) the interior of the Assembly Rooms. You will also recognise many locations from the screen adaptations of her novels.
Here you can see where Jane, her beloved sister Cassandra and her family lived. You will also see the pretty canal that Jane walking along and other unusual sights.
During your tour, you will have plenty of time to ask questions about exploring present-day Bath, so you can enjoy shopping and eating after the tour.

How long is the route?
- The tour is approximately 2 miles long with cobbles and some gradients.
Is the tour wheelchair accessible?
- The tour is not suitable for a wheelchair due to the pavements and uneven surfaces on the route. British Sign Language is not provided on the tour.
